So, I bought The Eye of the World yesterday (and-no, I’m not just reading it because the show is coming out now- I just wasn’t aware of the series up until a few months ago). It will still be a while before I get to it because I have so many books to read but I can’t wait to get to it and hopefully, I’ll love it.
What's on your mind?

I've climbed so far down the rabbit hole by now I gotta get some feedback. So in the end of aMoL Rand lights the pipe without the power but with perceiving it as lit similar to how Perrin influences the Wolf dream. this had me sprinting to Google for an answer but there's really not one other than an overwhelming consensus that Rand still influences the pattern like the dark one and his bubbles of evil. This thought had me thinking about the Aiel saying of "this world is the dream and death is the waking from the dream" which ties into everyone's rebirth into the pattern but also leaves the question of "what world/timeline is the reality?" This question for me was elevated tenfold when in ch 46 of aMoL Perrin is striking the final blow on slayer and sees an alternative group of worlds/realities where Aiel wore Seanchan armor and fought at thakandar. Other worlds were discussed many times in the books with the Eelfin, Aelfinn, The world where heros waited for rebirth, as well as the wolf dream. This last part of the book which confused me and im sure others had me not just thinking about Rands influence on the pattern but the concept of the WoT. It was said when Rand reformed the bore and sealed the DO tomb as opposed to destroying him that the dragon reborn had been and would always be remade to fight the darkness alluding to the duality required by the WoT in order for it to continue normally but also semi-explaining the different worlds witnessed by Perrin when he killed Slayer. the multitude of possibilities led the different worlds to the same conclusions through different avenues effecting the pattern in different ways. In summary is Rand able to still affect the pattern due to his understanding of the strings in his single dimension of a multi dimensional weave? or is he able to effect the pattern because he and the DO are anchor points in the weave? I may be to far down the rabbit hole but needless to say the ending STILL has me perplexed and satisfied with the series.

A/N: Before you comment, I know the DO is very debated and he’s not a person or anything like that. I know he’s a force and all that. But this is my attempt to humanise him and give him a clear origin in this short little piece I wrote. Hope you enjoy.
Btw, this is assuming the WoT takes place in our world in the future. So this is taking place during our time.

Once upon a time, long before when magic wasn’t common to the everyday eye, and men used machines to accomplish everyday tasks: there lived a young French boy of age seventeen.
His name was Stesha Jade, and he was a rather effeminate and frail child. Always picked on by the other kids at school. Stesha had a compromised immune system and there was a plague ravaging the planet, causing him to be bedridden and alone in his dark room at the corner of the apartment his family lived in.
Stesha violently coughed blood onto his chest, his lips slackening as the vivid red ichor trickled down his shirt and skeletal chest… tears felt tempting right about now, but he had none left to give.
My whole life has been nothing but a waste. And now, with this virus, I’ll be dead soon. He sniffed, tucking his long black hair over his shoulders. My whole life I’ve never once gotten anything I wanted, no matter how hard I tried. He’d been denied access to track and field because of his declining health, rejected from the chess club since the other kids didn’t like him and voted him out, every friend he’d ever had betrayed him, every last one. He’d only liked one girl in his whole life, her name was Aviendha, she was a good few years older than he, and yesterday he’d walked past her house and heard noises.
When he’d gone to investigate through the back window around her yard, he saw her sexually engaged with a strong, muscled man. That was when he realized the world hated him, the Creator hated him. The heroes despised him.
The walk back was harrowing and dark.
I don’t want to be like them anyways. If this is what they consider heroism, then I won’t partake in it. I’ll oppose it. Even his family, they constantly berated him for never being good enough. While babying his siblings.
I should just kill myself. Get some iron and pull the trigger.
“Fuck this world. Fuck men. Fuck women. Fuck everyone.” Stesha shivered into his blanket as goosebumps sprinkled up his skin. “They look up to hypocritical heroes who they project themselves onto, to compensate for how inadequate they feel. Glorifying traits of the Devil unknowingly in the process. They basically made him into their hero with their misplaced values.”
The Devil might as well incarnate as a human being and take his place as hero among men, like some sort of Dragon. They say they hate him but their actions say otherwise.
Stesha tickled the braces on his teeth. “Hmm. If only there were some way to remake this world. Destroy it and all its filth and then make a new one, one with people who understand and care about each other, unlike the apathetic evolved monkeys that live now…”
Stesha’s lungs compressed as more sick coughs bounded out his airways.
“Shut up, I’m trying to study!” Yelled his brother from the other room.
“In order to remake the world I’d have to defy God and ruin this world. I’d be seen as evil. But maybe this world needs an evil, so they can finally unite? They already hate me, so I could be the moral sacrifice. And in doing so, I’d be creating a more united world as was my intentions. They’d see me as absolute evil, but I’d be a clear gateway to free will. Then maybe they’d stop being so apathetic and evil to one another and just be evil towards me?”
But that doesn’t mean I’ll go easy on them. I’ll destroy them if I can. And those few forsaken and forgotten by society who see the world the same as I will side with me.
Stesha spent the remainder of the month gathering as much knowledge as he could. But died due to sickness shortly thereafter. No one attended his funeral, as his body was discarded into the river. A boy who’d never so much as been hugged or had any real friends in his life. Only neglect and mistreatment was what he received. Plagued by a slew of mental illnesses.
“You understand my plan, God?” Stesha’s spirit told the Creator. “Your people say they worship you! But their actions indicate they worship Lucifer. Not knowingly of course.”
“Lews Therin. Lucifer is an abbreviation of his real name,” God explained. “Very well, Stesha. I will place you inside a prison and allow you the means to simultaneously take your vengeance and be a force of ultimate evil, so that humanity may unite against you. And as for Lews, I shall make him a human being known as the Dragon and shall task him with defeating you. If he can, the irony will be that he accomplished the very thing he once sought to corrupt and likely die while doing so. And you’ll get to inflict all the pain he’s inflicted on others while taking his place in a sense.”
I won’t give them any sympathy, especially not Lews Therin, Stesha thought.
“You shall now be known as The Dark One, Shai’Tan.”
And He Did Not Live Happily Ever After.

A/N: Leave a comment with your thoughts! Also, what do you think are the DO’s origins?
Over 100 creatures and characters in one infographic. Full details on the link below.
Some tentative (and tentacled) illustrations of a mature jumara compared to a 5'10" human male. The jumara length is just over 100 feet.
I remember reading bits and pieces of main characters describing their homes. Before I start looking for these excerpts, would you just confirm that there has not been any posts on here as of yet?
I did do a little digging before asking =)
P.S. once I find these descriptions where would you like me to document them?
I am by no means a programmer by any stretch but I enjoy building real life settings in Minecraft. I recently found this Fandom WoT site and am so excited it exists! I have just had an urge to build a WoT map on Minecraft for personal use (let's not get ahead of ourselves).
1. Do you mind if I use your compilation of village descriptions as a base for my building adventure?
2. Can I share my progress for input and opinions?
2.a. I am considering the possibly of recruiting mega fans to friend me and contribute/build/role play along...
2.b. I do not know codes and programming so this is a clumsy/hobby/manual effort build adventure.
I have been working on this infographic to show the layout and recent history of the Hall of the Tower in the Wheel of Time.

How would people react? what about the whitecloaks? and how different would the story be if they were in it?

New first look is out, this time featuring Lan!
Video description provided by the official Twitter account:
Video Description (1/2): The video opens on darkness as we hear ominous sounds in the background. A man’s voice says "You think you know this world… you know nothing.” He comes into focus, turning his face of stone towards something, a fire burning behind him.
Video Description (2/2): This is Daniel Henney as Lan Mandragoran, Warder bonded to Moiraine Damodred. He turns around and strikes a creature that we can only see from the back with his sword, as the video smashes to black.
So we know that Shai'tan (The dark one) can not bring people back if killed by balefire. The horn breaks its bond with Mat when he dies but then Mat is brought back with the death of Ravin this doesn't make since if Ravin was killed before meaning Mats survival so that would mean the horn has a "memory" or that it is more powerful than the Dark One
RIP Wilson Grooms, Robert Jordan's cousin who he was very personally close to, and kept the public informed about his health in his later years.
