Pedron Niall sent Faisar to Tarabon to see if anything could be salvaged after the civil war there.
Varadin finds Faisar a safe hiding place in Tanchico after the arrival of the Seanchan in Tarabon. He sends word of this to Pedron Niall - Niall thinks that neither of the two men should have any knowledge of the other. Varidin says that he will try to smuggle Faisar out, but that the Forerunners have such a watch on the city walls that a whisper cannot pass unnoticed.
A later message sent from Faisar himself confirms what Niall had earlier considered Varidin's mad ramblings. Niall considers the Seanchan possibly more of a threat than the White Tower and their False Dragon, Rand al'Thor.
