Balladare Arandaille was an Aes Sedai of the Brown Ajah who was raised to the Amyrlin Seat.

History

Balladare was elected Amyrlin in 115 NE, succeeding Edarna Noregovna.. She is famous for the consideration that it is the moral duty of the Amyrlin to "explain herself to the common people" once she had made an important decision.

The Kavarthen Wars occurred during her tenure.

She is known for this quote:

"The Amyrlin understands the most complex of creeds and debates, yet in the end, she is servant to all, even the lowest laborers."

She used this to explain her reign during the Kavarthen Wars just before her death. Centuries later Egwene al'Vere quoted this line to Elaida do Avriny a'Roihan.

Balladare is regarded as a weak Amyrlin and died in 142 NE.
