Brys Noramaga was a Lord of Kandor, first husband and Prince Consort to Ethenielle Kirukon Materasu.

Appearance

He was a solid, rough-hewn man with green eyes.

History

He was born in 940 NE to House Noramaga, a lesser House than House Materasu.

He has at least two sisters who were married before 979 NE. He was close friends with Lady Ines Demain's husband.

He has a strong reputation as a general. Although more suited to armor than silks, he had grown accustomed to either. He and Lan Mandragoran have twice saved each other's lives in The Blight. Brys also fought in the Aiel War, but was forced to withdraw his army due to a flare-up of activity in the Blight.

Brys married Ethenielle in 963 NE and took her House name upon their marriage. He was styled "Prince Brys" and served as the Swordbearer of Ethenielle and the general of Kandor's armies. Theirs was a love-match in large part, but politics were also a factor. As Prince Consort, he and Ethenielle were not allowed to leave Chachin at the same time, except in times of war.

He and Ethenielle had eight children during the sixteen years of their marriage, seven of whom survived until adulthood. They are:

1. Antol: First son, born 964 NE.
2. Jarene: First daughter, born 966 NE.
3. Diryk: Second son, born 971 NE.
4. Daughter, younger than Jarene, whose name is unknown.
5. Three more sons, two of whom were infants in 979 NE.
6. Another child.

Seven children are mentioned in New Spring. The eighth is either a discrepnancy, not mentioned in New Spring, or was born later in 979 NE.

Lan and he met each other again in Chachin and Brys was present when Edeyn Arrel pledges her fealty to Lan.

Death

Brys died in 979 NE, along with his son Diryk, supposedly in an accidental fall which also claimed Iselle Arrel. Diryk was a victim of the male channeler pogrom, though that was not widely known. The murderer was Merean Redhill, a member of the Black Ajah. They were dropped over the edge of a long, stone-railed walk two-hundred feet above the city, a place the Prince was known to take time alone in to not be disturbed. Merean, observing this, used it as an opportunity for murder.
