Child of the Dragon

Child of the Dragon is a name given to Da'shain Aiel by the people of the time of the War of the Shadow.

First reference

At the Eye of the World when the Green Man first sees Rand al'Thor he calls him a Child of the Dragon.

"Strange clothes you wear, Child of the Dragon. Has the Wheel turned so far? Do the People of the Dragon return to the First Covenant? But you wear a sword. That is neither now nor then."

When Rand asks him what does he mean, Someshta, touching his wounded head explains that his memories are torn and he himself is unsure.

Rand, – in his seventh vision in the glass forest ter'angreal of Rhuidean, being Jonai the Da'shain Aiel, – meets Someshta in one of the room of the Hall of the Servants just before the Nym gets the task from the Aes Sedai to guard the Eye of the World. Someshta's head is wounded, he has lost part of his memories, he doesn't recognise Jonai. The Aiel sadly tells him they are friends since his childhood. The Nym asks him whether he is a Child of the Dragon.

"Jonai winced. That name had caused trouble, no less for not being true. But how many citizens now believed the Da'shain Aiel had once served the Dragon and no other Aes Sedai?"
