Setting: Royal Palace of Andor, Caemlyn |
Summary[]
Point of view: Elayne Trakand
Elayne arrives by gateway from a recruiting trip in Andor. None of the Kin, Aes Sedai or Sea Folk Windfinders are channeling. They all must sense the vast channeling to the west where Elayne can sense Rand. Birgitte arrives with news that something is going on with the Kin and Windfinders, but she doesn't know what it is. Vandene, Merilille, Sareitha and Careane arrive although Vandene continues on whatever errand she has in mind. Elayne tells them there is nothing to be done about the channeling so just ignore it. The Aes Sedai recommend making plans to flee, but Elayne quells them. Doilan Mellar arrives boastful of how he saved eighty of Lord Luan's men from being caught by the besiegers. Elayne dresses him down since those men are not sworn to her yet and he risked letting the besiegers get inside the gates to perform his rescue. She orders him to make sure the men are watched and kept away from the walls.
