Point of view: Pevara Tazanovni
Pevara is meeting with Tarna Feir in her rooms with Pedra serving tea. Tarna is now the Keeper of Chronicles, replacing Alviarin Freidhen after her month long absence. Tarna recounts how she encountered a recruiting party of Asha'man when she was returning from Salidar to the White Tower. After pondering the situation for a long time she has concluded that Aes Sedai must take the Asha'man as Warders so they can be controlled, whether they could be gentled afterwards or not. Pevara shows Tarna a message she received from Cairhien, originally sent by Toveine Gazal. She suggests it changes the whole world.
