Elan Dapor was a nation of the Free Years. It was founded after the end of the Trolloc Wars and rose from the ruins of Safer and parts of Aelgar. It was later conquered by the false Dragon Guaire Amalasan in FY 940 and was then annexed by the Empire of Artur Hawkwing. Its territory currently resides within the borders of the modern nation of Tarabon and part of the southernmost reaches of the Almoth Plain.
Geography[]
Elan Dapor was a kingdom of middling size in the Free Years era. It was bordered by the Aryth Ocean to the west and the Mountains of Mist to the east. Its northern border ran from the head of the bay south of Toman Head southeast towards the Mountains of Mist. Its southern border was the River Andahar and one of its tributaries. Elan Dapor's neighbors were Darmovan to the north, Dhowlan to the east, Shiota to the southeast, and Balasun to the south.
The name and location of Elan Dapor's capital city are not recorded. No major cities of the modern era lie within its territory (although the city of Tanchico lay on the border to the south, it appears to have been held by Balasun), and the only known modern settlement within its territory is the Taraboner town of Alcruna. It is unknown if the town existed at the time of Elan Dapor.
History[]
Very little is known of Elan Dapor's history, save that between FY 939 and FY 940 it was invaded by the armies of Darmovan under the leadership of Guaire Amalasan and was conquered within a few months. After Amalasan's death, Elan Dapor was left leaderless and in chaos. Some years later it was seized during the Wars of the Consolidation by Artur Hawkwing and made part of the coastal province administered from Tanchico. During the War of the Hundred Years much of the territory of Elan Dapor was conquered and subjugated by Tarabon.
