Appearance

Haesel is not particularly pretty, average in face and figure, but has a vivacity that makes most people see her as pretty.

About 5'4" tall, she is neither slim nor stout. Her black hair is worn in an elaborate braid that hangs halfway down her back, with the braiding running onto the top of her head. She has black eyes.

Strength and Abilities

In "The Wheel of Time Companion" Haesel level of strength is described as 16(4), which is a quite high level in the Aes Sedai hierarchy.

This strength is more than enough to open alone a suitable Traveling gateway.

History

Haesel is 122 years old. She was born in 878 NE and went to the White Tower in 891 NE. After spending ten years as a novice and four years as Accepted, she was raised to the shawl in 905 NE.

When she went to the White Tower, she lied about her age by two years, but by the time she was caught out, she had been training for a year. She was punished, but the Aes Sedai could not turn her away by that time, though she always believed that the reason she had been so long a novice was that they simply would not let her test because of her subterfuge.

Activities

She has allied herself with the Salidar Aes Sedai and was one of the ten ferrets sent to the White Tower to spread the rumor that the Red Ajah set Logain Ablar up as a False Dragon. Of all the ten ferrets, Haesel is the oldest and the highest in hierarchy by strength and years of training.

When Zerah Dacan is found out to be a Salidar spy, she gives up Haesel's name as well. Haesel was so part of the group that was trying to hunt down the Black Ajah.

When the oath of obedience is lifted from Meidani Eschede, it can be assumed that Haesel was freed as well.

Particularity of this character
