Jeaine Caide was an Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah.[1] She was also Black Ajah and a member of Liandrin's group of Black sisters.
Appearance and Personality[]
Jeaine had the appearance of a typical Domani, with coppery skin and a swan neck. She had dark brown eyes.
She detested men, and chose Green partly so she could beguile and control them. Yet, she was not attracted to women.
Strength and Abilities[]
Jeane is of high average strength for an Aes Sedai, with a One Power level of 18(6). She is stronger than the minimum stated strength needed to Travel. We can assume that all Black Ajah that took part in the Last Battle were taught the weave.
History[]
Jeaine was born in 912 NE and went to the White Tower in 928 NE. After spending six years as a novice and six years as Accepted, she was raised to the shawl in 940 NE.
She was one of the seven Aes Sedai that escorted Siuan Sanche and Moiraine Damodred to Tamra Ospenya when they were to be raised from Accepted to Aes Sedai and swear the Three Oaths. It is unknown if she was Black at the time already or not.
Activities[]
After fleeing the White Tower with her group she went to Tear and worked for the Forsaken Be'lal. They tried to trap Rand al'Thor just after he released Callandor.[2]
When this failed they fled to Tarabon. During the trip in a ship, Jeaine tried to use one of the ter'angreal stolen by them. This fluted black rod produced a bar of balefire that nearly sunk the ship.[3]
In Tanchico they tried to steal the male a'dam from the Panarch's Palace. There she used the ter'angreal weaving balefire in the attempt to kill Nynaeve al'Meara after Nynaeve had defeated the Forsaken Moghedien. After she missed, Nynaeve was wondering if the uncontrollable ter'angreal killed Jeaine. [4]
When Moghedien took over Liandrin's group in Amador, she assigned Jeaine a task to which she reacted with horror.[5]
Regardless of what her task from Moghedien was or if it was carried out or not, Jeaine was killed by Thomdril Merrilin at Shayol Ghul in the Last Battle while trying to sneak inside the Pit of Doom using the Mask of Mirrors to pose as Cadsuane Melaidhrin.[6]
