Summary[]
Point of view: Elayne Trakand
Elayne Trakand, Birgitte Trahelion and Aviendha are walking to Elayne's apartments to dry off after getting soaked in the rain. Reanne Corly meets her in a hallway and mentions that one of the sul'dam admits to seeing weaves and now insists she should be collared as a damane. Elayne proposes to send her back to the Seanchan as evidence that sul'dam can channel. On their way they gather up Reene Harfor, who suggests, like almost everyone they encounter, that they get out of their wet things. As a more important matter, she tells Elayne that the mercenary captains are waiting for a meeting with her. They also run into Renaile din Calon Blue Star and Chanelle din Seran White Shark who want to know what is being done to find their apprentice Talaan din Gelyn who apparently left the Palace and maybe the city with Merilille Ceandevin. When Chanelle comments on her wet clothes Elayne screams as loud as she can since she has been trying to get to her apartments to change but has been constantly interrupted.
