Masenashar was a kingdom of the Free Years. It was founded after the end of the Trolloc Wars, and was established on the former territory of Aridhol. It was later absorbed by the growing might of Artur Hawkwing's Empire. The lands it once held are now mostly uninhabited wilderness.
Geography[]
Masenashar stretched from the Mountains of Mist to the River Haevin, and from the River Arinelle in the south to the River Ivo in the north. It was bordered by Farashelle to the south, Dal Calain to the southeast, Roemalle to the northeast, Oburun to the north, and Oman Dashar to the west, across the mountains. The ruined city of Shadar Logoth lay on Masenashar's southwestern border, across the Arinelle.
History[]
Little is known of Masenashar, except that circa FY 450 Queen Sulmara was removed from her throne and taken to Tar Valon, where she was set to work by the Aes Sedai in the White Tower kitchens. It is theorized that Sulmara was a novice or full sister who had shirked her Aes Sedai responsibilities to return home and become Queen, and the Aes Sedai's actions showed that no one, despite their power, was beyond their reach. If this is true, then Masenashar is the last known nation to have been ruled by a woman who can channel prior to Morgase Trakand of Andor.
Masenashar was unaffected by the War of the Second Dragon but was conquered by Artur Hawkwing. After the War of the Hundred Years the territory controlled by Masenashar became less populous and no nation holds sway over its lands today.
