Quillin was married to one of Bandar Eban's most successful silk merchants and managed her accounts for some twenty years before the both retired very wealthy.[2]
The Wind's Favour is spotless and sells fine vintages. Quillin does not allow Gleemen or musicians to perform there. It is a very high-end establishment with few customers.

It was through Namine's knowledge of current events he became an informant for Cadsuane Melaidhrin, whom he calls Mistress Shore. He is aware that she is an Aes Sedai. Cadsuane considers his information very good and he is willing to look into enquiries for her among his and his wife's associates.[2]

He points out that the grain spoilage has gotten worse since the arrival of the Dragon Reborn. He also reports freak events due to Ta'veren, but all are ill luck without any balance of good luck. This worries Cadsuane.
