Samalin Naerodan is an Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah and a Sitter in the Salidar Hall.[1]
Appearance and Personality[]
Samalin is a fox-faced Murandian with a mannish stride.[2]
Despite being sharp-faced she has a surprising sense of humour and a bright, clear laugh.
Strength and Personality[]
Samalin has a strength in the One Power of 22(10), average for an Aes Sedai. She would not be strong enough to Travel unless she has an above average skill in the Talent.
History[]
Samalin is Murandian and 65 years old; she was born in the year 935 NE and went to the White Tower in 952 NE. After spending six years as novice and five as Accepted she was raised to the shawl in the year 963 NE.[1]
Samalin has only one Warder, to whom she is married, though that is not widely known.
Activities[]
She was elected as a Sitter in the Rebel Hall of the Tower. She is one of the Sitters whom Siuan Sanche identifies as being too young for the position.
She is one of the Aes Sedai in the Little Tower who rejects Egwene al'Vere as Amyrlin in the first vote. But she stood immediately for Egwene the second time.
She votes to declare war on Elaida do Avriny a'Roihan in the first round of voting. She also votes to ally with the Black Tower and to accept the offer from the Dragon Reborn to allow sisters to bond forty-seven Asha'man.
She was unseated upon the reunification of the White Tower due to being surplus to requirements. Farnah Sadaou replaced the Black Ajah Sitter Talene Minly, while the other two positions continued to be held by the previous incumbents Faiselle Darone and Rubinde Acedone.
It is presumed that she fought in and survived the Last Battle.
