Sashalle Anderly is an Aes Sedai of the Red Ajah.
Appearance[]
She has blue eyes and curly hair, wore in ringlets to her shoulders, also a stubborn jaw. After being stilled and Healed, she has lost the ageless look and, instead, looked merely short of her middle years. She also looked prettier after losing her ageless look.
Strength and Abilities[]
Sashalle is very strong in the One Power for an Aes Sedai, with a strength of 14(2). Only four other women out the Tower loyalists we have details on can match her strength, and only Elaida exceeds it.[1] After being Healed, she was restored to her full strength, although she was no longer bound by the Three Oaths.
History[]
Her name indicates that she is likely from Andor. She was born in 816 NE and went to the White Tower in 832 NE. She was a novice for nine years and Accepted for six. Sashalle was raised to the shawl in 847 NE.
Activities[]
Stilling[]
Sashalle was one of the Aes Sedai involved in Rand al'Thor's kidnapping. Along with Galina, she was the strongest in this expedition, and so they were at the top in the hierarchy when the Red Ajah took charge after diplomatic failure.
During Dumai's Wells battle Sashalle was holding the shield on Rand, along with Irgain Fatamed and Ronaille Vevanios, and all three were stilled when he broke the shield[2].
She has since been Healed by Damer Flinn[3] [4].
Fealty[]
Sashalle is one of the Aes Sedai who has sworn fealty to Rand[4] but as with other stilled Aes Sedai, she is not bound by the Three Oaths.
Sashalle begins to challenge Samitsu Tamagowa's authority in Cairhien[5] after she is Healed due to her being far higher in the One Power. She is present when Samitsu Heals Dobraine Taborwin from being stabbed by two robbers rummaging through his room.
She sends word to Galina Casban (whom she presumes to still be Highest), which is received by Tsutama Rath, about her swearing fealty to Rand and of her being Healed from stilling[6].
When Dobraine was sent by Rand to Arad Doman the two Aes Sedai Sashalle Anderly and Samitsu Tamagowa took unofficially the stewardship of Cairhien for a while, until the coming of Elayne as new queen[7].
Sashalle and Samitsu greet Elayne Trakand when she arrives in Cairhien and pass formally all duties of ruler-ship onto the new queen[8]. It is unlikely that she has held the Oath Rod since being Healed.
The Last Battle[]
Likely on Cadsuane Melaidhrin's command, Sashalle and the other sisters present in Cairhien joined the Last Battle in Thakan'dar Valley, where Sashalle was placed under Compulsion by Hessalam and forced to feed her her strength. Due to over-exhaustion, Sashalle collapses on the slopes of Shayol Ghul[9].
Draining a person completely could render her useless for days, so it is likely that Sashalle is alive[10]. However, because of Hessalam's Compulsion, she will probably not survive the Healing of her mind.
