Senine din Ryal is a Sea Folk Windfinder.[1]

Appearance[]

She has a weathered face with gray through her hair. She now wears only six earrings, but some more holes in her ears are signs of her former high ranking.[2]

Strength and Abilities[]

She has a strength level of 19(7). This is enough to open a Gateway for Traveling by herself.[1]

History[]

Senine was born over 500 years ago and is therefore is the oldest channeler who has appeared (rather than only mentioned) in the books.[1]

Through a combination of her age and the Atha'an Miere custom of rising and falling many times as the women she serves are premoted, demoted or die, she has risen to the position of Windfinder to a Wavemistress several times.[1]

More recently, she served as Wavemistress to the Mistress of the Ships (the predecessor to Nesta din Reas Two Moons).[1]

Senine now is among the low ranking Windfinders, serving on a soarer, the smallest of the vessels of the Atha'an Miere. She is, however, given some allowance for her long experience.[2]

Activities[]

Because of her relative strength Senine was selected in Ebou Dar among the twenty strongest Windfinders to go to use the Bowl of the Winds and so she traveled to the Kin's Farm with the others.[3]

Senine did not link in the circle that worked the Bowl, because stronger channelers were available. Nevertheless, she was consulted during the use.[verify]

After the Seanchan conquest of Ebou Dar she and all the others channelers in the Farm fled to Andor.[4]

She is one of the Windfinders being tutored by Aes Sedai in Caemlyn.[2]

When Elayne Trakand is captured by the Black Ajah Birgitte Silverbow manages to convince Chanelle din Seran White Shark and the rest of the Sea Folk Windfinders that without Elayne there is no bargain. They Travel to the area where the Black Ajah are riding a wagon with Elayne inside. The strike force ride towards the wagon, but are decimated by Balefire from Asne Zeramene. Birgitte finally convinces the Windfinders to actively attack the Black Ajah. The Windfinders all link with Chanelle in control and attack the wagon with lightning, killing Asne in the process. They shield all the remaining Black Ajah members so they can be taken captive by Elayne's troops.[5]
