Balefire malfunction?[]
I recall Nynaeve balefiring the Myrrdral during this particular scene yet Dallin is still dead. Does this mean that Dallin was killed by one of the human Darkfriends, or is this an error by the author given the effects of balefire?

It depends also how strong the balefire used by Nynaeve was, in fact when a target is struck with balefire, its thread in the Pattern is destroyed, in an amount proportional to the power of the balefire strike. This translates to both the target's existence, and actions up to a certain point, being retroactively erased. The stronger the balefire, the further back in time the object in question will be burned from the Pattern. If Nynaeve strike was not too powerful, only few seconds were cancelled.---kay- (talk) 11:43, October 19, 2016 (UTC)
Given Nynaeve's strength in the power and the fact that it almost immediately happened I'd tend to think either one of the human Darkfriends got in a good thrust. Alternatively it could have been either Egwene BBQ'ing them or Elayne shrinking them up into a ball of Myrrdraal meat technically killed them, which in this case was the very worst kind of killed (at least for Dallin)
