Nalesean's rank is quite indirect. On the last page of chapter 26 in the Guide it gives the breakdown of the Band, but no specific titles for the named characters. The Band seems to imitate the form of the armies in the Trolloc Wars as it is described on the same page. Talmanes is described as the commander of the First Banner of Cavalry, so Nalesean would command the Second. This makes them commanders of Banners and, in KoD, Mat mentions that Talmanes and Daerid are being promoted to Leiutenant-Generals because they now command several Banners. The guide describes this as a Legion. In addition, the Seanchan seem to have the same military structure as Mat, which isn't surprising since they probably retained it since Hawkwings's day.
