Elaida comes into the room and acts very arrogantly to Egwene, Nynaeve and Elayne. She asks if they know of the Black Ajah, and the girls confirm that they do. She asks where they have been so she can protect them from being linked to Liandrin and the other sisters that fled the tower. The girls decline to disclose where they have been, with Nynaeve claiming that the Amyrlin had told them not to disclose it. Elaida shifts the conversation to ask about Rand. As Nynaeve ponders how to answer, the door opens again and Sheriam walks in. Sheriam wants all three of them to go with her and faces Elaida down until she leaves. Nynaeve asks about the Gray Man so Sheriam realizes they have told Elayne despite orders to tell no one. She repeats that they are not to speak of it except to the Amyrlin. She says the Healing of someone brought to the Tower is always done in the presence of those who brought him; they are to follow her to Mat's Healing.
