Summary[]

Point of view: Cadsuane Melaidhrin

The interrogation of Semirhage continues. Cadsuane finds a kindred spirit in Sorilea, and is amazed that the Aiel Wise One manages to get a reaction from the Forsaken by noting how ordinarily human she seems. The Forsaken laughs at how these people can call themselves Aiel, having forsaken their covenant, and the Way of the Leaf. Cadsuane has only caught rumors of the Aiel past, and is curious to hear more.

Sorilea wishes to see the male a'dam. Although Cadsuane does not wish to show it, she owes Sorilea for teaching her the weave for traveling. Cadsuane has the a'dam in a box with unique inverted weaves set to capture anyone trying to open the box. Sorilea sees it as an evil object. Cadsuane would like to experiment with it but Rand prohibits any testing on the Asha'man. Cadsuane and Sorilea both agree that Rand al'Thor needs to be guided to show more emotion, or the Last Battle will be lost.
