Setting: Rebel Aes Sedai camp near Tar Valon

Summary[]

Point of view: Siuan Sanche

Siuan walks into the Aes Sedai camp with her laundry only to find that there is a meeting of the Salidar Hall. She wonders what is amiss, as nothing except the extraordinary can gather this many Sisters and other watchers. The last time it happened was the announcement that saidin had been cleansed and Sisters had bonded Asha'man. Sheriam reveals that Elaida's Sisters have the ability to Travel now. There are shocked reactions to this as the sisters wonder how it has happened. Siuan figures it must have been Beonin who gave away the secret. She prays that they can keep the weave away from the Seanchan. She proceeds to warn Gareth Bryne about the need to watch his flanks.

Sharina Melloy, an aged novice, approaches Siuan. She offers to carry her washing. She notes the oddity of the meeting of the Sitters, saying it is strange that such an event originates merely from learning that the White Tower could Travel. Sharina reveals that Lelaine is the one to have allowed the news to be learned by all on purpose, in order to promote her own political goals. Siuan is worried about Lelaine making a grab for power. The over-aged novices are afraid anyone but Egwene will take the position as Amyrlin, since they would certainly be sent home, not being raised to the shawl. Much is at stake in having Egwene resume control.
