Summary[]
Point of view: Sheriam Bayanar
Sheriam returns to her tent, checking to make sure no one is waiting for her before entering. She is grateful that Halima was forced to leave since she no longer has to suffer beatings from her. She senses a very powerful woman outside her tent, then the woman enters clothed all in black. The Chosen demands that Egwene be deposed. She is asked how so many Sisters are able to meet with Egwene in Tel'aran'rhiod, which is by using ter'angreal. The Chosen demands the nineteen Sleepweavers be collected and turned over to her with the loss of a finger or toe at stake for each one missing. The Chosen then leaves by Gateway into the White Tower.
Point of view: Egwene al'Vere
Egwene is kept shielded and locked in a lightless cell, still wearing the bloody dress she wore to Elaida's dinner. Even though Elaida ordered no visitors, that is against Tower Law so some Sisters come to see her. Right now Seaine Herimon is in her cell. Elaida is going to be brought to trial for beating Egwene with the Power which was witnessed by five Sisters from five Ajahs. The penalty Elaida would face would not be severe though. Rooms in the tower are still randomly being switched around, food is spoiling and some servants have died, all signaling the Dark One's touch on the world. Egwene encourages Seaine to keep reminding the Aes Sedai that the Dark One stirs and the Last Battle approaches and to keep their attention on working together.
