Summary[]
Point of view: Rand al'Thor
Rand wanders the streets in Ebou Dar and becomes impressed with the order the Seanchan have brought to the city. He talked with one of the many bands of Tinkers the night before and found they were considering settling, having found some place where they aren't persecuted. He begins to wonder if he has chosen the right path for holding in his emotions, since he almost killed his father. He again begins planning to destroy the Seanchan. His plan is to destroy the Tarasin Palace, where the Daughter of the Nine Moons lives, then destroy the fleet in the harbor. He would then begin traveling around destroying garrisons and supply depots. He could then do the same in other countries held by the Seanchan.
He seizes saidin and is gripped by the worst nausea ever, and falls to the ground holding the access key. A crowd gathers near him, looking concerned for his well-being. Instead of beginning his attack, he makes a Gateway and skims rather than travels and curls up on the platform. He arrives at a field where he fought the Seanchan. He makes another Gateway and travels to the top of Dragonmount, created by the death of Lews Therin Telamon. He makes a fire with saidin, sets the Access Key down on the ground and begins to think.
