Summary[]

Point of view: Nynaeve al'Meara

Nynaeve and Daigian consider the constant overcast of the last week. Daigian is teaching the standard one hundred weaves to Nynaeve. She considers the weaves useless, far too complex for the function they serve. Nynaeve effortlessly completes each weave. Daigian, being among the weakest in the One Power Nynaeve has ever seen, will always be ranked lowest when in the company of other sisters. Nynaeve complains how these intricate social codes are wrong, letting a woman's strength in the power determine position, when Daigian has as much, or more knowledge than any other Sister.

She sees the Aiel arriving in camp, and hurries off, to join Rand, Davram Bashere, Rhuarc, Bair, Amys, Aviendha and others in the tents, discussing the plan for Bandar Eban. Rhuarc is ordered to capture the members Merchant's Council, who are scattered in their home cities. He considers this to be protection from the Forsaken as well as gathering them to choose a new king. Rhuarc asks about Ituralde, and how he plays into all of this. Rand is determined to deal with him personally.
