Wavemistress

Wavemistress is the Atha'an Miere title for the leader of a Sea Folk Clan. The Wavemistress of a clan is also the Sailmistress of her own ship.

The Wavemistress usually appoints her Cargomaster to become Swordmaster for her, and one of her Windfinders as her personal advisor.

A Wavemistress can be recognized by the large number of medallions on her nose-ring. Often, they number so greatly that there is no space in between each one.

• Zaida din Parede Blackwing - former Wavemistress of Clan Catelar, now Mistress of the Ships.
• Malin din Toral Breaking Wave - Wavemistress of Clan Somarin and Sailmistress of Windrunner.
• Niolle din Lembar - Wavemistress (clan unknown).
• Wallein din Onill - Wavemistress (clan unknown).
• Lincora din Omen - Wavemistress (clan unknown).
• Pelanna - Wavemistress of Clan Kisagi.
• Lacine - Wavemistress (clan unknown).
• Harine din Togara Two Winds - Wavemistress of Clan Shodein (second least senior of the First Twelve).
• Mareil - Wavemistress of Clan Mushien (least senior of the First Twelve).

There is an additional Clan called Takana whose Wavemistress must be one of the above women.
