Summary[]
Point of view: Rand al'Thor
Rand has been visiting inns for the last week trying to find the renegade Asha'man that tried to kill him in Cairhien. Rand waits in an inn and hears a few rumors while waiting for Torval to appear, but it is only an older man that resembles Torval. Verin finds Rand in the street and tells him that the Seanchan are moving toward Illian again so his earlier fight hasn't slowed them down very much. Rand decides to accept Cadsuane as his advisor and asks Verin to tell her so. Finally deciding that he has spent enough time looking for his foes he decides to leave Far Madding tomorrow.
The innkeeper has a message for Rand but due to customs in Far Madding she waits for Min to return and gives it to her. The anonymous note appears to be from someone in power in Far Madding that wants the Dragon Reborn to be gone from the city. The note lets Rand know that Kisman is dead and that Torval and Gedwyn are at a house on Blue Carp Street near the Illian gate.
